The VETS Group is constantly growing and making its presence known within the community and within the region. For the past few years, the VETS Group has worked with the Task Force for Veterans Entrepreneurship and hosted networking events, participated and exhibited at conferences and other small business events with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as private and public organizations as a part of its outreach initiatives to hundreds of veterans in the Washington, D.C. area.
Via the Task Force, the VETS Group helps to oversee the implementation of veterans’ procurement legislation for the benefit of thousands of veteran business owners, their families, and dependents. The VETS Group has been successful in notifying hundreds of veteran business owners of procurement opportunities thru the use of its contact database, many of whom have been successful in obtaining contracts.
Other planned activities include networking events with Business Card Exchanges, discussion groups with company CEOs, and conducting workshops at military installations and other locations around the region. The VETS Group will use its resource center site to host events, discussion groups, videoconferences, and business film viewings.
