ATLANTA– Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Paradies and Avis Budget Group to sponsor a series of Job Fairs & Veteran Small Business Expos targeted to U.S. Military Veterans and their family members. The Hartsfield Jackson Airport will be hosting the Leave No Veteran Behind – Veterans Employment Fair & Expo on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Georgia International Convention Center.
This is the 6th event being organized by the Vets Group that will feature specific employment opportunities for Veterans, Active Duty Military, and their family members as well as business opportunities for Veteran Owned Businesses. Key title sponsors, Paradies Family Shops and Avis Budget Group are working with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) VetJobs and VET-Force to ensure that this initiative is a success.
“These Employment Opportunity Fairs offer a unique opportunity for Veterans, Active Duty Military and their families to learn about jobs in the Airport industry that include, operations, security, the airlines, construction, concessions and hospitality,” said Joe Wynn, President of the VETS Group. “The Leave No Veteran Behind” Employment Opportunity Fairs & Expos bring together local businesses and the Veteran community’s highly skilled workforce to help businesses grow and positively impact the airport industry’s economic vitality,” said Rick Weidman, Chairman of the Veterans Entrepreneurship Task Force (VET-Force).
Previous events have been hosted by the Thurgood Marshall Baltimore International Airport, the Miami International Airport, the Long Island MacArthur Airport, and an upcoming event will be held at the Georgia International Convention Center. Participating companies have included, Paradies Family Shops, Avis Budget Group, Lockheed Martin, American Airlines, TSA, Black Box Network Services, Airport Fuel Services, Enterprise Holding, Department of Veterans Affairs, and many more.

The VETS Group is a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to providing Veterans and their families a way to achieve economic empowerment through Education, Employment and Entrepreneurship. At the VETS Group Training Academy in Washington, D.C., we offer Veterans training courses that result in recognized and highly desirable certifications in high-growth industries, such as IT and Telecommunications. Unlike many organizations that offer training, the VETS Group actively partners with large corporate enterprises to offer Veterans employment opportunities after their training and certifications are complete.
Admission is free to all job seekers and veteran business owners seeking procurement opportunities. There is a cost to employers to help cover the cost to hold the “Leave No Veteran Behind” – Opportunity Fair & Expos” around the country, remaining funds will be used at the VETS Group Training Academy in Washington D.C. to train more Veterans and help them obtain employment at a living wage and to offset transportation cost for the Returning Warriors Banquets that are held monthly.
